TOURISM BOARD WINNER
Belonging to a team of just three public relations professionals, Tobin pulled her socks up and delivered a stellar year that saw her host eighteen famils, 13 trade workshops and more than 500 sales calls in 2018.
Moreover, last year was a chance to do things with a bit of swagger by celebrating all of the niche areas of the destination: highlighting the stunning drives for the car fanatics; the ethereal desert camping opportunities for the action-buffs and adventurers. It was also an opportunity to walk the talk: instead of telling the media Abu Dhabi is a family friendly destination – Tobin’s team invited them and their kids to join the tourism board on a famil to see it through their kids’ eyes themselves.
“We did the same for travel agents and have never had such thankful people ever,” Tobin says. “Rather than just celebrating Louvre Abu Dhabi, we collaborated with Atout Francais, and organised a dream famil for travel agents which stopped in Abu Dhabi and then travelled to Paris so agents could experience Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Musee du Louvre.”
