As the co-lead on Wotif’s new brand platform Aussie for Travel, Nicole Redfern isn’t afraid to be bold. But to put that in perspective, when we say she’s bold, we’re saying building the Big Melon in Chinchilla, Queensland kind of bold. We can only imagine what that pitch meeting looked like. “[W]e pride ourselves on punching above our weight and building a connection with our community through engaging, entertaining and useful content,” Redfern says.
As a leader, she defines herself as approachable, collaborative and transparent, viewing social media as less of a Monday to Friday and 9-to-5 kind of job. “I work hard to create a team culture that acknowledges out-of-hours contributions, encourages flexibility, and balance to ensure burnout is avoided in the fast-paced social media world.”
She’s also a forward thinking, fast-on-her-feet creative whose been around for a seven-point lift in brand awareness and five-points in brand consideration month-on-month. On top of that she’s headed campaigns that have reached millions of people on Facebook and Instagram and can lay claim to the only 365 days ‘always-on’ social media channel for both brands.
